Once i started to think about the kinds of things I was printing, I noticed that a few of the pages I printed were really not required. From time to time I’d print out something just so I could file it! Just how stupid is that! I already have it filed in my computer; I have no need to file another copy. At times you just get accustomed to accomplishing things a particular way therefore you keep on doing them like that without thinking about it. I also noticed myself printing plenty of pages from internet sites. I discovered that I would constantly get a page or two printed i didn’t need. You know exactly how long some internet pages are! I just needed to take the additional time to select what I wished to print and next pick the ‘print selection’ option on the print dialog box. This saves lots of time at the same time!

Through experience i realized that i didn’t often need the top quality output whenever I printed. In reality, I rarely need the best quality. The vast majority of what I print is for my own use so i only need to be able to read it. It doesn’t have to look pretty!. I tried different print settings and discovered that the ‘Draft mode’ was sufficient for my requirements. I do not know exactly how much toner it saves per page, however , you can tell from just looking at the page that there’s a lot less toner used on it. I also discovered i could simplify the printer quality selection process by simply reinstalling a second printer driver. Doing this I can have 1 driver set to the high quality settings and also have the other set to save the most toner. Now all I have to do is select the proper driver when I print and I get the quality I want.

I’m not really that mechanically inclined, thus have often been reluctant to try to refill my own toner cartridges, but I decided to try it anyway. I went online and ordered a kit for my printer. I also needed to buy a tool kit as my cartridge would need to have a hole placed into it. Now I was getting anxious, I didn’t understand I was going to need to modify the cartridge! The kit finally came in the mail. I also purchased a new spare just in case my refill efforts were unsuccessfull. The guidelines were great and I found that even I was able to figure out and perform the steps. Long story short, I got the refilled cartridge to operate. It cost me under 1 / 2 what the brand new one cost me and I have enough toner left over to fill it one more time. This is really going to save me a bundle!

I discovered i was able to drastically minimize the amount of money I was spending on my printing materials by just sticking with these easy steps. I was not only able to cut back just how much copier toner I used, but I cut down on the use of the copy paper in addition. To top it off I saved a bundle by refilling my own , personal cartridge! Believe me, if I can do it, you can do it!
